STEPS GIS Associate
The University of Kentucky is seeking a STEPS GIS Associate to support the GIS team’s mission to maintain accurate records of the university’s utility infrastructure. This role involves fieldwork and office tasks including data collection and processing within GIS systems, as well as assisting with compliance obligations related to the KY811 program.

Responsibilities
Conduct regular site visits to capture continually evolving infrastructure data using a variety of collection methods
Process, organize, and update information within the university’s GIS systems
Review and assign incoming locate tickets from the state system
Coordinate internal processing and provide follow-up to ensure timely and accurate resolution
Qualification
Required
High School/ GED
Driver's License
Must be able to work from ladders or lifts up to 15 feet or higher
Lift and carry 30 pounds
Work in tight places for extended periods of time
Able to distinguish colors
Traverse campus while carrying or moving equipment in a reasonable amount of time
Sit or stand for long periods of time
Preferred
ArcGIS Pro
GNSS / GPS data collection systems
Photogrammetry tools and workflows
Utility systems (e.g., water, steam, electric)
Telecommunications systems (e.g., fiber optics, networking)
