Responsibilities
Develop and manage operational budgets using detailed historical data; forecast expenses, handle accruals, purchase orders, invoices, and competitive RFPs to ensure cost-effective procurement
Oversee daily operations, including scheduling routine and emergency repairs, preventative maintenance, and management of critical infrastructure (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security)
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with third-party vendors; negotiate contracts and consistently monitor service quality
Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and accessibility regulations (OSHA, EPA, ADA); conduct risk assessments and implement corrective measures
Strengthen the collaborative relationship with the base building’s chief engineer for optimal efficiency
Deeply understand the Genesis brand, objectives, and guidelines to align all operations and deliverables with brand and legal standards
Respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations
Quickly diagnose and resolve issues by self-performing any problems that arise during and after hours
Remain available for after-hours urgent calls
Participate in team and client meetings as needed
Maintain a strong understanding of Genesis House facility maintenance to meet and exceed client expectations
Consistently represent Genesis House with professionalism and leadership
Perform additional duties as required
Qualification
Required
Deep understanding of building systems (MEP)
Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business, or Engineering, or 7+ years of equivalent experience in related field
Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects under tight deadlines
Demonstrated success managing budgets and delivering on financial targets
Strong vendor management, negotiation, and communication skills
Track record of consistent, high-quality project delivery that builds long-term client relationships
Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays for events and repairs
Daily presence at Genesis House as required. This will never be a remote position
Calm, results-driven mindset in high-pressure situations
Professional, business-casual presentation
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
Familiarity with HVAC BMS systems and controls
Experience with HVAC and mechanical systems
