The role involves ensuring VM performance and operational stability while collaborating with other stakeholders to resolve virtualization issues and manage lifecycle operations.

Responsibilities
Diagnose complex VM performance issues related to CPU, memory, storage, and network
Independently investigate and resolve virtualization-related incidents, MIMs
Coordinate with application teams and infrastructure teams to analyze and troubleshoot issues
Manage cold and live migrations, snapshot, and cloning activities
Manage storage vMotion as part of storage lifecycle operations
Knowledge on DRS, sDRS, HA mechanisms
Conduct RCA and recommend preventive actions
Generate operational and performance reports using vROps
Handle vCenter authorization and authentication issues
Support ITIL process including Change, Incident and Problem management
Provide technical guidance and collaborate across teams with strong communication skills
Work with application teams to correlate hypervisor metrics with OS/application metrics
Providing engineering insights to improve VM placement, resource utilization and capacity planning
Ability to work independently in a high availability 24•7 production environment
Qualification
Required
Responsible for administering and troubleshooting large-scale VMware environments, ensuring VM performance, availability, and operational stability
Deep analysis of virtualization issues, lifecycle operations, migrations, troubleshooting performance issues, automation of routine tasks, and collaboration with other stakeholders
Diagnose complex VM performance issues related to CPU, memory, storage, and network
Independently investigate and resolve virtualization-related incidents, MIMs
Coordinate with application teams and infrastructure teams to analyze and troubleshoot issues
Manage cold and live migrations, snapshot, and cloning activities
Manage storage vMotion as part of storage lifecycle operations

Exposure to scripting for bulk operations (PowerCLI, PowerShell)
Experience with banking or other critical production environment
Understanding of ITIL framework and operational workflows
Self-driven with strong analytical, ownership and learning mindset
VMware certifications preferred
