Responsibilities
Acts as a key contributor to the Manufacturing Engineering team and supports various complex activities to increase manufacturing capabilities
Actively participates in introducing new products to the manufacturing and supply chain environment
Directly impacts all aspects of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and innovation, as well as operations' sustaining and growth efforts
Responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing processes and procedures for fabrication, machining, and assembly of space-flight composite hardware
Works collaboratively with all levels of personnel, including Program Managers, Supervisors, Technicians, and Inspectors, to ensure the efficient fulfillment of product and delivery commitments
Read and interpret Engineering Drawings to create the Product Indentured Bill-of-Material
Consult with Shop Supervisors to develop accurate schedule durations for each component of the build cycle
Review Engineering Specifications to determine product requirements
Develop optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards
Develop, generate, and implement efficient Manufacturing Process documentation in at least four Composite Manufacturing areas (Lay-up, Panel Build, Detail Fabrication, Surface Measurements, Tooling Alignment, Machining, Assembly, and Structure Integration)
Responsibilities encompass determining optimum operating parameters, creating accurate work instructions and process improvements, and developing tooling and shop aids as necessary
Provide technical oversight to shop personnel during all phases of manufacturing
Support customer reviews and technical interchange meetings as needed
Track, report, and analyze defects driving to root cause and analysis, and providing continuous improvement
Use statistical analysis to determine control limits for equipment and processes
Support investigations, develop activities, and conduct process improvement studies
Qualification
Required
BS in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Technology or 8 years of progressively responsible equivalent experience in a prototype manufacturing engineering environment required
Knowledge of process creation, CNC programming, metallic fabrication techniques, post-fabrication processing, and other field-related skill sets is desired
Literacy in Microsoft's typical suite of Office software is required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Etc.)
Project management, analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills will be required
Ability to support multiple projects seamlessly and simultaneously with minimal oversight
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in and foster a team environment are needed
An in-depth understanding of GD&T schemes and the ability to explain them as necessary is required
Preferred
Experience in SolidWorks or Siemens NX CAD software preferred
