Tradewind International Inc. is an innovative international trade finance company based in New York City. They are expanding their legal team and seeking an in-house counsel to manage legal affairs, negotiate contracts, and provide legal support across the Americas.

Responsibilities

Managing the legal affairs of the affiliated companies of the Group in the Americas
Ensure that the Group’s processes, contract templates and guidelines are applied
Negotiate contracts and provide timely and efficient legal support to the various departments
Advise the operating units on specific legal issues and risks in the USA and the Americas with emphasis on practical solutions focused on revenue generation and risk mitigation
Handle contract management and development of contract standards in the region
Assist with local internal corporate governance
Represent Tradewind’s interest in commercial collection litigation of Tradewind’s role as a finance provider
Liaise with external attorneys

Required

Law degree and licensed
At least 3 years' experience in a commercial financial sector, in particular- Accounts Receivable Factoring or Asset Securitizations
Proactive, cooperative, and straightforward approach
Thorough knowledge of Uniform Commercial Code issues with emphasis on Articles 2 and 9, general insolvency laws, documentary bank collections, and transportation logistics
Excellent attention to detail, autonomous and good adaptation skills
Team player, inter-personal and intercultural skills that promote effective communication at various Group levels
Integrity and loyalty
