Sterile Equipment Technician
The University of Florida is seeking a Sterile Equipment Technician to join their College of Dentistry. This role involves cleaning and preparing dental instruments for sterilization, operating sterilization equipment, and maintaining inventory of office supplies.

Responsibilities
Dispensing clean instruments to dental students and departments, using computer program Axium and the INFO-DOT process. Collecting, tracking, and processing dirty instruments according to sterilization protocol
Disinfecting and sterilizing dental instruments for all UFCD dental students and the UFCD dental clinics. Replacing broken or missing instruments for UFCD dental students
Recording incoming and outgoing instruments from students and departments
Oiling and maintaining instruments
Checking bur blocks for burs that need to be replaced because of wear or because the bur has been discarded. Requires critical attention to detail
Maintaining office supplies inventory
Labeling and scanning with the Axium program
In-service training (updates, new sterilization techniques, and computer classes)
Other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred
Dental Assistant certification or equivalent training
Ability to prepare, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments and equipment
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to plan, organize, and perform work assignments
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Ability to pay attention to detail
CPR certification within 30 days of hire
