Responsibilities
Implement solutions that maximize safe operations at all Port of Virginia facilities
Contribute to the execution of strategic initiatives to ensure the competitiveness of the Port of Virginia
Provide support to operations to ensure all business case goals associated with projects are achieved quickly and reliably
Oversee field-related operations associated with construction management. Determine and coordinate materials and equipment
Gather required information to evaluate objectives, goals, and scope to create specifications
Participate in the creation and evaluation of project design alternatives
Ensure all targets and requirements are met and projects are completed on schedule and within budget
Communicate project status in a timely accurate manner, while providing input to the mitigation of all current and future risks. This includes keeping project stakeholders aware of issues that may impact project schedule or cost
Contribute to a team-based culture to ensure the smooth operation of the group, its projects, and the operational goals of the Port of Virginia
Maintain and actively participate in self-development and on-going training
Performs other duties as assigned
The Port of Virginia is a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week, 365-day-a-year operation, schedule and location may vary based on the needs of the operation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required
Valid driver's license
Transportation Worker Identification Credential
Licensed Professional Engineer
10 or more years of related experience required
Preferred
Master's Degree is preferred
