The role involves working with development technicians, coordinating with land-use agencies, and leading capital improvement projects to ensure effective utility system extensions.

Responsibilities
Work in tandem with development technicians to review privately managed extensions to our utility systems
Coordinate with land-use agencies and neighboring service providers to plan and promote growth
Lead capital improvement projects to relocate infrastructure to accommodate our partner agencies
Provide engineering and technical support to the workgroup
Work with AWWD staff, the development community, and our partner agencies to ensure system extensions are cost effective and built to last
Provide capital project management with support of our Engineering team
Execute infrastructure relocation projects in close collaboration with management, engineers, construction managers, and operations staff
Qualification
Required
Three years of progressively responsible experience in engineering for the Engineer classification
Four years of progressively responsible experience as a Professional Engineer for the Project Engineer classification
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington State
Strong communication skills to engage with diverse teams, stakeholders, and community members
Preferred
Knowledge and experience with land use planning
Familiarity with the operations and maintenance of water and wastewater utilities
Basic competency in project management with an ability to grow into the role
