Responsibilities
Troubleshoots, inspects/maintains, and diagnoses repair and replacement needs of Landfill facilities & mechanical equipment
Troubleshoots, inspects/maintains, and diagnoses repair and replacement needs of Environmental Control Systems
Heavy equipment operation
Effectively conducts preventative maintenance activities for the mechanical components of equipment (e.g., periodic deep cleaning)
Removes and replaces or rebuilds equipment and/or components due to wear or failure
Diagnoses routine or recurring environmental control system operational problems and requisitions necessary parts and supplies
Ensures appropriate and timely cleaning, maintenance, and repair of work areas, tools, and equipment as assigned
Develops periodic reports, utilizing spreadsheets, database, and report writing software
Contacts vendors for price quotes on project work, materials, and supplies
In the absence of the Landfill Manager, handle customer inquiries and resolve issues in a professional manner
Performs other duties as required or assigned
Qualification
Required
High School diploma, trade school completion, or the equivalent required
A minimum of five years of experience, including school or apprenticeship-related experience, in diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, and replacing components of a facility, Landfill mechanical equipment, environmental control equipment or similar
A minimum of three years of customer service experience
Valid driver's license and safe driving record required to operate SPSA owned or leased vehicles
Knowledge of techniques required to maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems of equipment/facilities on the landfill and environmental control systems
High Mechanical aptitude preferably with industrial process equipment
Knowledge of the operating principles of 480V, 120V and lower voltage electrical circuits
Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade
Skill and ability to read and understand service manuals, parts books, and catalogs
Skill in the use and care of tools and equipment used in industrial equipment maintenance trade
High level of industrial safety and awareness, including some formal safety training
Preferred
Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
