Director of Finance / Controller

Talent Harbor is a growing, mission-driven manufacturing organization seeking a Director of Finance / Controller to elevate their accounting and finance function. The role involves full ownership of GAAP-compliant accounting, month-end closing, and strategic financial planning while partnering with leadership to support scalable growth.

Responsibilities

Full ownership of GAAP-compliant accounting, GL accuracy, and balance sheet integrity
Lead and close month-end within one week
Build and maintain manufacturing job costing (BOMs, COGS, labor — you know the drill)
Manage and develop 1 Accounting Clerk (AP / AR / payroll support)
Track customer deposits and revenue-related transactions accurately
Create executive dashboards and weekly financial reporting
Lead cash flow forecasting and forward-looking financial planning
Present monthly financials to the Board (with support from a contract CFO)
Partner with leadership on budgeting and annual planning
Serve as primary liaison to external accounting and advisory partners
Lead ERP selection and implementation (NetSuite or similar; ~12 months out)
Own administrative finance responsibilities (benefits, insurance, filings, board docs)
Continuously improve processes, controls, and reporting as the company scales

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Manufacturing accounting experience, including job costing
Proven ownership of month-end close and balance sheet management
Experience managing at least one direct report
Ability to wear multiple hats in a growing environment
Comfort building processes from scratch when needed

Preferred

CPA or progress toward certification
ERP implementation experience (NetSuite a big plus)
Experience presenting financials to a Board or executive team
Background in small-to-mid-sized or scaling companies
