The Credit Products Underwriter III - CRE is primarily responsible for underwriting complex financial transactions and providing product expertise to clients, balancing analysis, deal execution, and client consultation.

Responsibilities

You will prepare complex financial underwriting for transactions between $10M and $50M that impact key client accounts and business profitability
You will independently analyze credit deals and recommend optimal structures and pricing to Relationship or Department Managers
You will identify and document policy exceptions while gathering financial data and business insights directly from clients
You will present credit analysis to loan committees and serve as a subject-matter expert in credit and industry trends
You will write commitment reports and independently present loan renewals or support Syndicated and Club transactions as needed
You will collaborate with Relationship Managers to develop new credit business and deliver tailored financial solutions to clients
You will supervise analysts and interns, manage credit workflow, and oversee tasks such as covenant testing and financial spreading
You will monitor borrower compliance, review and negotiate legal documents, and coordinate with Capital Markets on swaps and prepayments

Required

Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of Credit Analysis/Credit products underwriter experience; or 14+ years of equivalent work related experience
Comprehensive accounting & cash flow knowledge, with demonstrated knowledge of intermediate accounting theory (including the difference between GAAP and income-tax based statements, cash and accrual accounting, consolidation and elimination principals, and the effect each type of accounting has on the underwriting process)
Succinctly identify the drivers and/or potential threats to cash flow and structuring in order to mitigate that risk, if possible
Solid working knowledge of rules, regulations and documentation
Clearly communicate and convey information and ideas through a variety of channels
Leverage a network of relationships with clients, Relationship Managers, and peers for support in achieving both the individual and organizational goals
Strong knowledge and understanding of credit principles, lending functions, loan analysis, and application of general credit policies
Excellent organizational skills and meticulous work habits
Solid critical review skills focused on errors and incorrect conclusions
Ability to complete assignments quickly and efficiently with minimal direction
Proactive communication skills (internally with colleagues and senior personnel and externally)
Good conflict management skills
Possess the courage and confidence to have difficult conversations or voice differing opinions (both internally and externally)
Strong knowledge of loan documentation, loan policy and regulations
Excellent knowledge of the Loan Grading Process
