Regional IT Support
The Intersect Group is a leading organization in the vision-care space, seeking a Regional IT Support Specialist to provide technical support across multiple affiliate locations in the Detroit area. This role involves ensuring smooth technology operations, supporting hardware and software, and proactively identifying and resolving IT issues.
Responsibilities
Provide daily technical support for computers, peripherals, network devices, camera systems, mobile devices, and other technology across assigned regional offices
Install, configure, and upgrade hardware and software for affiliate locations
Diagnose and resolve Level I technical issues; document all activity in the ticketing system
Deliver on-site and remote end-user support, including one-on-one training when needed
Troubleshoot issues related to email, printing, network connectivity, workstation performance, and local application functionality
Assist with testing new hardware and software, reporting potential issues proactively
Maintain accurate inventory of IT equipment and ensure proper asset controls
Support server and network equipment under direction from senior IT leadership
Contribute to IT projects and regional initiatives as needed, collaborating closely with local partners
Qualification
Required
2+ years of IT‑related experience or formal technical education required
Hands‑on experience supporting Windows 10/11, hardware installs, and workstation troubleshooting
Familiarity with ticketing systems (Zendesk preferred but not required)
Exposure to Cisco Meraki, RingCentral, or similar technologies is beneficial
Ability to travel up to 50% by car or plane to regional affiliates
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally at all levels
Highly organized, self‑motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities in fast‑changing environments
Demonstrated problem‑solving ability and sound judgment when escalating issues
Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate across functions
Preferred
Managed Service Provider (MSP) experience — strongly preferred
Healthcare or medical practice environment experience (including EMR/PM systems)
Industry certifications such as A+, Network+, or Security+
Strong customer‑service approach and a passion for technology
