Sales Manager

Venture Hire Group LLC is seeking a results-driven Sales Manager to lead and develop a small team of inside and outside sales representatives in the plastics distribution market. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, improving gross margins, and strengthening customer relationships while ensuring disciplined sales execution.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and motivate a team of inside and outside sales representatives
Conduct regular performance reviews, pipeline meetings, and ride-alongs
Hire, train, and onboard new sales team members as needed
Establish clear goals, accountability, and professional development plans
Develop and execute sales strategies to grow revenue, margin, and market share
Set territory and account strategies for both house accounts and field sales
Monitor pipelines, quoting activity, and closing ratios to ensure target achievement
Identify and pursue new market segments and strategic accounts
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and suppliers
Support sales reps in negotiating pricing, contracts, and long-term agreements
Resolve escalated customer issues related to pricing, service, delivery, or quality
Stay informed on market trends, resin pricing, supply chain shifts, and competitor activity
Collaborate with purchasing, operations, and logistics teams to align inventory and customer demand
Ensure pricing discipline and margin management across all accounts
Assist with forecasting demand and sales trends
Support credit and collections efforts to maintain healthy accounts receivable
Enforce CRM usage and maintain accurate pipeline and account data
Track and report key performance metrics to senior leadership
Drive consistency in quoting, follow-up, and account management processes

Required

5+ years of experience in plastics distribution, polymer sales, or industrial distribution
2+ years of experience managing or leading a sales team
Strong knowledge of distribution sales cycles, pricing strategy, and margin management
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and profit targets
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office

Preferred

Experience selling plastic sheet, rod, tube, film, or resin products
Familiarity with ERP systems used in distribution environments
Experience managing both inside and outside sales teams
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
