Director of Creative Services
Be Clear Communications is a boutique communications and strategy consultancy dedicated to building a better, more progressive world. The Director of Creative Services will lead and shape the creative practice, overseeing design work and guiding clients through creative processes.

Responsibilities
In coordination with Partners, serve as Be Clear’s creative lead, developing compelling concepts for clients and overseeing the Be Clear visual brand
In coordination with Partners, serve as a client-facing representative of Be Clear, treating the client’s needs and hopes as your own. Your client responsibilities at times may involve communications work outside of design as well, including advising on digital strategy, written content, and audience engagement
Design beautiful, functional, easy-to-manage websites for clients, train clients on how to update them, and manage contractors as needed to bring them to life
Create additional high-quality design content, including content for web, templates, decks, social media, documents, invitations, ads, one pagers, reports, and other collateral
In collaboration with Be Clear Partners, scope new design offerings and services and future vision for our design work. Thinking about the potential growth of Be Clear’s design arm, help design future roles, mentor existing teammates, and supervise future team members
Participate in business development activities, including writing proposals and creating pitch decks, conducting website audits, and giving presentations to potential and existing clients
Coordinate effectively with the project manager and partner on each client to understand goals, audiences, key messages, and track updates
Manage and recommend design updates for the Be Clear’s branding, including our website, merch, cards, and other Be Clear collateral
Qualification
Required
5+ years of professional design experience, preferably in agencies, government, campaigns, journalism, advocacy or similarly fast-paced environments
Creative prowess with experience leading creative work, developing compelling concepts for clients and creating visually compelling designs
Demonstrated record of designing beautiful, user-friendly websites and bringing them to life using drag-and-drop platforms, particularly Squarespace
Demonstrated expertise in UI/UX design, with a portfolio showcasing visually appealing, intuitive interfaces and content that enhance user experiences
Background in logo/brand development, including brand systems and visual identities
Desire to grow and innovate, to come up with new ideas for clients and the firm
Fluency in a wide range of design tools, including Adobe Creative suite, Figma, and Canva
Experience collaborating with or managing developers to build websites on platforms such as Webflow and Wordpress
Strong project management skills and the ability to lead productive, inclusive discovery and feedback processes with clients, our internal team, and subcontractors
Fluency in and unwavering commitment to advancing issues of racial justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion
Preferred
Video creation and/or editing skills
Expertise in digital strategy and/or paid media
