Production Engineering Manager - Permian
SM Energy Company is seeking a Production Engineering Manager responsible for overseeing engineering aspects related to asset development plans. Qualification
Required
A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering is required for this position
Minimum of 10 years of related industry experience, including at least 2+ years of direct supervisory or team‑leadership experience within engineering or oil and gas operations
Proven experience overseeing teams, managing performance, and guiding professional development
Experience coordinating cross‑functional projects and leading technical decision‑making processes
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications
Experience in leading teams using industry and company software such as AVM/Merrick, WellView, ARIES, Spotfire, and SCADA Platforms
Demonstrated ability to apply broad and deep knowledge of production engineering principles, advanced techniques, and the ability to modify and extend established theories
Strong understanding of property valuation methods, regulatory requirements, leasing and land operations, basic oil and gas accounting, and budgeting
Proficient in resource play evaluation methods and risk analysis
Knowledgeable about multiple basins and resources
