Responsibilities
Assist the slitting machine operation in preparing material for shipment
Must be able to read and understand a job ticket for pertinent information
Follows food safety guidelines
Cut cores to correct length per specification
Prepare winder shafts with cores in necessary
Splice rolls together
Position roll of material to be slit at the unwind (rear of machine)
Carry finished rolls to bench, remove shaft, rebuild shaft and place on slitter
Move rolls with defects to slitting area
Stack rolls properly and neatly
Wrap rolls, weigh if necessary and place roll on pallet with corrugated cardboard for cushion
Train other Slitter Assistants in position
Complete other duties as assigned by Shift Supervisor
Visually inspects food contact paths during preventative maintenance to ensure no visible contamination is evident
Contact supervisor if contamination is suspected
Punctuality and adherence to the company attendance policy are essential
Qualification
Required
One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
Must be detail conscious, quality control and safe production oriented
