Responsibilities
Prepare and issue accurate customer invoices, including progress billing, milestone billing, and time-and-material billings as required by contract terms
Ensure invoices comply with government contract requirements
Track and apply incoming payments (ACH, wire, check) to correct customer accounts
Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due balances
Work with Contracts, Program Management, and Production teams to resolve billing discrepancies
Maintain detailed records to support audits and government reviews
Match purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices (three-way match)
Ensure proper approvals and correct cost allocation (job cost, project, or department)
Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH, and wire payments
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Greet visitors, answer and direct phone calls
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
Prepare account reconciliations, including AR, AP, and related balance sheet accounts
Maintain organized financial records and documentation
Qualification
Required
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2+ years of experience in accounts receivable and/or accounts payable
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with government contract billing or cost accounting
Familiarity with ERP or accounting systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, reconciliations)
Understanding of basic accounting principles
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially with contract documentation
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced production environment
Strong communication skills for working with operations, purchasing, and program teams
Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and correct discrepancies
To comply with U.S. Government export control regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), candidates must be a U.S. person
Preferred
Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
