Responsibilities

Schedules various facility inspections and testing to comply with local, state and federal guidelines. Meets with contractors to review findings and identify deficiencies prior to contractors leaving the premises
Activates and documents ILSM paperwork for life safety deficiencies that cannot be repaired in a timely manner. Reviews all reports and actively manages all deficiency repairs. Documents repairs as they are made
Responsible for all compliance documentation, including current inventories, testing schedules and results, and corrective maintenance history required for generators, fire pumps, fire/smoke dampers, emergency lighting, medical gas, room pressurization, and other systems as assigned
Confirms that all inspections, testing, repairs, etc., are properly filed so that documents can be easily reviewed
Maintains all department policies, the Statement of Conditions, Basic Building Information, ICRA/ILSM documentation, and conducts annual grounds inspections of all , and gathers and reports on all material to be presented during the quarterly utilities and construction committee meetings
Develops general compliance educational activities and researches and interprets new codes in order to inform staff of new and existing requirements and to prepare for upcoming surveys
Serves as a key department representative with regulatory agency representatives, collecting content and providing presentation materials for review. Ensures engineering documentation is always survey ready
Works with division leaders in the implementation of Compliance policies throughout area of responsibility. Includes participating on workgroups, task groups, tracking milestones of implementation and development, research, or engagement of required educational needs assessment
Interacts with outside vendors and key customers to ensure all projects, required documents, and other forms of transaction based interactions are appropriately managed and met
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of CMS, Medicare/Medicaid, and Office of the Inspector General regulations regarding existing and emerging required testing, inspection, and documentation
Prepares materials/handouts for various compliance and privacy workgroups or meetings, including operating room, isolation room, and sterile processing reports of temperature, humidity, and room pressures, and tracks/ensures that life safety preventive and corrective maintenance work orders are completed on time
Holds project/construction meetings to review all new project scope prior to signing off any construction documentation
Plans, coordinates, and manages small projects at the facility level. ensure proper and final billing of each project is accurate
Provides input to design drawings and PD&C on larger projects

Required

At least 5 years Experience in a healthcare setting
At least 1 year Healthcare compliance or regulatory compliance experience
Knowledge of Joint Commission Environment of Care and Life Safety requirements
High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred

At least 5 years Engineering/facilities experience
Project management experience
Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
