Automation Engineer
Interactive Resources - iR is focused on improving efficiency in warehousing environments through automation. The Automation Engineer will lead the design and deployment of automation and robotics solutions, particularly autonomous mobile vehicles and robots, ensuring their integration with existing systems and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and support AMR/AMV solutions for material transport, replenishment, and order picking
Optimize fleet management, navigation, and system performance
Analyze workflows to identify bottlenecks and labor-intensive processes suitable for automation
Apply lean principles to improve efficiency and throughput
Develop and validate simulation models for AMR routing, traffic management, and throughput analysis prior to deployment
Integrate AMRs with WMS, IoT-enabled devices, and APIs to enable real-time visibility and control
Establish safety standards and operational guidelines for shared human–robot environments
Ensure compliance with applicable ISO/ANSI standards and local regulations
Monitor automation performance metrics such as utilization, cycle time, and error rates
Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on data insights
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align automation initiatives with cost, quality, and service-level objectives
Develop system documentation including architecture diagrams, SOPs, and maintenance plans
Support quality objectives by troubleshooting issues and implementing preventive maintenance strategies
Qualification
Required
Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship
