Responsibilities

Participate in the design, development, and prototyping of new product concepts, refinement of existing product designs, and the development and implementation of test procedures, methods, and fixtures
Design, plan, and execute laboratory experiments to evaluate the feasibility of concepts and existing product designs
Collect and review test data against established acceptance criteria and document within written test reports
Interact with cross-functional engineers and team members to understand clinical, functional, and user requirements
Document relevant information (i.e., new ideas, test results, build procedures, etc.) according to good laboratory practices or related company procedures

Required

Minimum of 2 years of college-level coursework in an engineering discipline and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Strong curiosity and eagerness and willingness to learn
Familiar with R&D equipment used for prototyping common medical devices (hot boxes, adhesives, soldering, bonding, fuse joining)
Proficient with SolidWorks for drawing and designing tooling, fixtures, devices, and related items
Knowledge of common materials (polymers, metals, chemicals) used in medical device fabrication
Familiarity with machining and rapid prototyping (3D printing) tools; tensile (Instron) testing, simulated use, or other related test methods a plus
Strong organizational skills; including management of multiple priorities and time constraints
Good interpersonal skills, effective written and verbal communication, and partnership with R&D and other cross-functional departments
