Responsibilities

Maintaining the Fabrication space including 5’s and tool control
Assembling and building details and sub-assemblies
Supporting development engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of mechanical systems
Performs part-fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming
Measures parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions
Conducting routine testing, troubleshooting, prototype building, and developmental engineering tasks
Performing operational tests to ensure conformance with design specifications
Diagnosing and isolating malfunctions down to the component level
Conducting engineering tests and collecting data
Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks
Aligns parts on jigs using templates and fixtures
Devices, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies

Required

High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience for Mechanical Technician - Level 2
High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience for Mechanical Technician - Level 3
Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance
Must have ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs, prior to the start of employment
Must be willing to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and off-shifts
Must be willing to obtain and maintain the appropriate medical clearance(s), as defined per the customer's contracting requirements, for the duration of your employment
Ability to wear a respirator or other safety gear
Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing 50lbs and work with hazardous-materials, in accordance with safety regulations
Ability to work from engineering drawings or models
Demonstrated experience with mechanical assemblies, electrical systems, and/or fabrication

Preferred

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS, Word, Excel, Outlook)
Proficiency with CPLM and NX
Knowledge of schematic diagrams and other engineering documentation
