Vice President of Finance
Cleveland University–Kansas City (CUKC) is seeking a seasoned, strategic Vice President of Finance to serve as the University’s senior financial leader and trusted advisor to executive leadership and the Board. This role is critical for safeguarding institutional resources, ensuring regulatory compliance, and aligning financial strategy with CUKC’s mission to educate and develop leaders in health promotion.
Responsibilities
Lead all accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis functions
Oversee banking, investments, insurance, and risk management activities
Ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, Form 990, and other regulatory requirements
Develop and maintain strong internal controls and financial policies
Present financial strategy, performance, and risk insights to the Board and senior stakeholders
Partner across the University on strategic initiatives and long-term planning
Lead, mentor, and develop finance staff while overseeing key vendor relationships
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a related field
CPA
Minimum of 5 years of senior-level experience managing nonprofit accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting
Deep knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards and compliance
Strong executive communication and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and oversee complex financial systems and technology
Preferred
MBA
10+ years of progressive nonprofit financial leadership experience
