Senior Technical Writer, Game Developer Tools, 2643-1
Cypress HCM is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to support their Game Developer Tools team on a contract basis. The role involves crafting clear and comprehensive documentation to assist game developers in using their games platform, SDK, and APIs, while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
Create, synthesize, format, revise, and maintain technical documentation that enables game developers to effectively use the Games Platform, SDK, and APIs
Partner with engineers, product managers, and product designers to gather, clarify, and validate technical information
Contribute to and refine the information architecture, voice and tone, style guide, and best practices for technical content
Improve and document workflows for how information is gathered from games platform engineers and transformed into developer-facing documentation
Communicate documentation changes and updates to internal cross-functional teams and external game developer partners (e.g., via release notes for new builds and updates)
Collaborate with Product Design to understand platform features within the product UI and ensure the right context is clearly presented to developers
Present documentation work to stakeholders and peers for visibility, feedback, and continuous improvement
Qualification
Required
5+ years of relevant experience in technical writing, documentation writing, UX writing, content strategy, or information architecture
Proven experience creating documentation in close partnership with engineering and/or UX teams
Ability to work autonomously, prioritize effectively, and make strategic content decisions independently
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present work and incorporate feedback
Proficiency with Git-based workflows
Comfort writing in markup languages such as Markdown and basic HTML
Preferred
Experience collaborating with game developers or working on tools, SDKs, or APIs in the games space
Familiarity with the development and documentation of design systems and language frameworks
Background or strong interest in games and game development
Experience working in fast-paced, feedback-driven environments with distributed, cross-functional teams
