Responsibilities
Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) along with variance analysis
Ensure transactions are properly coded by job, cost category, and department
Provide leadership with clean, decision-ready financial data
Maintain accurate cost tracking for labor, materials, subcontractors, and overhead
Compare projected vs. actual costs and identify margin drift or cost overruns
Manage Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting and ensure revenue recognition follows required standards
Oversee sales/use tax compliance for production and service-related activities
Maintain and verify exemption documentation and ensure proper tax collection/remittance
Support payroll tax compliance and assist with year-end audit preparation
Maintain rolling cash flow forecasts for 30/60/90 days
Monitor accounts receivable aging and collaborate on collection efforts
Oversee accounts payable timing, accuracy, and alignment with cash availability
Implement and monitor financial controls, audit trails, and documentation standards
Ensure integration accuracy between payroll, job costing, procurement, and accounting systems
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reporting processes, and system efficiency
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience in construction, fabrication, manufacturing, or related project‑based industries
Strong background in job costing, WIP reporting, revenue recognition, and tax compliance
Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks or similar) and advanced financial reporting
Ability to clearly communicate financial information to both financial and non-financial leaders
