Responsibilities
Serve as technical lead for IoT embedded hardware platforms
Own technical planning, execution, and delivery of hardware projects
Make architecture and design decisions to keep teams moving forward
Act as the primary technical escalation point when leadership is unavailable
Coordinate work across hardware, embedded software, and cloud teams
Identify technical risks early and drive mitigation strategies
Design, build, and maintain embedded IoT hardware platforms
Create new hardware architectures and improve existing designs
Perform schematic capture, design reviews, and board bring-up
Specify components with attention to cost, availability, and lifecycle
Support manufacturing, test development, and field issue resolution
Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, firmware, and RF issues
Collaborate on embedded Linux platforms (Debian, Yocto, OpenWRT)
Support BSP-level integration including bootloaders, device trees, and drivers
Work closely with firmware engineers using C/C++
Perform system-level integration with backend cloud systems
Design and integrate RF systems (cellular, BLE, sub-GHz)
Perform antenna selection, tuning, and validation
Integrate and optimize GNSS (GPS) solutions
Support regulatory and certification efforts (FCC, CE, IC)
Qualification
Required
5+ years of professional experience in embedded hardware engineering
Demonstrated experience leading embedded or hardware projects end-to-end
Strong digital and analog circuit design experience
Proven schematic capture and PCB layout experience (Altium preferred)
Hands-on experience with microcontrollers and embedded processors
Strong C/C++ experience in embedded environments
High-level working knowledge of embedded Linux
Practical RF experience (radio integration, debugging, antenna work)
GNSS / GPS integration experience
Ability to plan work, prioritize tasks, and drive execution independently
Comfortable making technical decisions with limited oversight
Preferred
Embedded Linux build systems (Yocto, Debian, OpenWRT)
Bootloader, BSP, or kernel-level experience
FPGA experience
Manufacturing test development
Experience supporting products in production and field deployments
Supply-chain and component lifecycle management experience
SQL or data analysis related to device telemetry
