Responsibilities
Help own a highly competitive and critical part of our coverage while elevating the overall trajectory of the Sports team
Drive real-time coverage across digital platforms and help develop reporters
Work side-by-side with reporters to elevate their work and with fellow editors to connect stories to the community
Copy editing experience is a must as is a willingness to write as needed
Regular evening work during coverage of events
Qualification
Required
Proven ability to help own a highly competitive and critical part of coverage
Ability to drive real-time coverage across digital platforms
Experience in developing reporters
Understanding that sports coverage is more than X's and O's
Passion for sports journalism
Leadership skills
Coaching skills
Strategic planning skills
Experience in copy editing
Willingness to write as needed
