Work Planner - RPU

Responsibilities
Manage, prioritize, and schedule all maintenance activities
Plan and schedule daily work assignments for maintenance and field crews
Build weekly or recurring maintenance schedules
Schedule and coordinate with contractors/customers requesting RPU assistance as it relates to scheduling. Make field checks as to the readiness of the contractors and sites
Prepare work packages for small capital additions, operations, and maintenance work originating from the assigned divisions. Schedule and coordinate planned and emergency outage request for the orderly completion of work
Readily use available technology to assist with reporting and work completion
Operate and maintain the preventative maintenance and work management computer systems and software tools used for maintenance planning and documentation
Prepare performance reports that reflect the status of work, planning/scheduling efficiency, schedule compliance, work completion, and backlog
Assist Supervisor(s) and Crew Leads to coordinate work with other departments
Provide internal application expertise to others who are responsible for entering information into the work management and other support systems that are used for identifying, classifying, prioritizing, estimating, scheduling, assigning, tracking, and recording work and resource utilization
Prepare information for accounting on work that is billable
Complete both long-range planning for preventive/corrective maintenance task and for auxiliary projects
Manage the maintenance backlog and identify any emergency break-in work requiring immediate attention
Receive work requests from various sources
Ensure the requests are handled in a timely and effective manner and that information about such requests is kept current
Resolve unusual work planning issues such as emergencies, schedule conflicts, resource limitations, unclear work requests, and customer complaints
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
A high school diploma or equivalent GED
Five years of experience in utility field operations, construction and either municipal water system, power generation, or power distribution system maintenance
Valid Minnesota driver's license
Preferred
Experience with water system operation, construction and maintenance as a planner
Experience with work management software such as SAP and GIS
Experience in planning and/or supervising work crews
Experience with other specialized software tools used for planning purposes
Completed seminars/courses in work planning and scheduling, planning/scheduling software, and water utility functions
