Accounting Clerk

LHH is seeking an Accounting Clerk responsible for accurately processing vehicle deals and supporting daily accounting operations for a network of automotive dealerships. The role involves ensuring compliance and accuracy of deal-related documents and assisting with month-end closing tasks.

Responsibilities

Process all new, used, and wholesale vehicle deals, verifying accuracy and completeness of required documentation
Enter deal information into the dealership management system (DMS), ensuring proper accounting of revenue, costs, incentives, and commissions
Review purchase agreements, retail finance contracts, lease documents, and trade-in paperwork for compliance with company and manufacturer standards
Reconcile schedules related to deals, such as contracts in transit, vehicle receivables, and inventory postings
Coordinate with finance managers, sales managers, and title clerks to resolve discrepancies or missing documentation
Post manufacturer incentives, rebates, and chargebacks as needed
Assist with month-end closing tasks, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting for multiple store locations
Support the accounting department with filing, scanning, data entry, and other administrative functions
Uphold confidentiality and accuracy when handling sensitive financial and customer information
Contribute to process improvements to ensure smooth workflow across the dealership network

Required

Previous automotive accounting or dealership experience preferred
Familiarity with DMS platforms such as CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, or similar systems
Strong administrative, customer service, and/or accounting experience
Strong understanding of accounting principles and deal documentation
High attention to detail with excellent organizational and time‑management skills
Proficiency with Excel and general office software
Ability to communicate effectively with team members across multiple dealerships
High school diploma or equivalent; additional accounting coursework is a plus
