Responsibilities

Support advanced modeling and simulation projects focused on high-speed propulsion systems, including rotating detonation rocket engines (RDRE) and supersonic turbulent combustors
Run and analyze computational physics models
Support reduced-order model (ROM) development
Post-process large CFD datasets
Work closely with experienced engineers and researchers to contribute directly to active R&D programs

Qualification

Required

Proficiency in Python for data analysis, scripting, and plotting
Experience with scientific visualization software such as ParaView
Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Comfortable working in Linux/HPC environments (job schedulers, remote clusters)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Typical degrees hired include: Mechanical Engineering (Undergraduate or Graduate), Aerospace Engineering (Undergraduate or Graduate), Applied Math, Physics or related STEM disciplines
U.S. Citizenship Required

Preferred

Coursework or experience in CFD, fluid mechanics, combustion, heat transfer, or numerical methods
Familiarity with CFD tools (OpenFOAM, STAR-CCM+, Loci CHEM etc.)
Experience with large datasets and post-processing automation
Exposure to model reduction, surrogate modeling, or ROM techniques
Experience with Git or collaborative software development
Strong Interest in aerospace, propulsion, or hypersonic systems
