Responsibilities

Preparing, monitoring, and managing the departmental budget
Tracking operating and capital expenditures
Reviewing, reconciling, and processing invoices for payment
Ensuring accurate accounting of technology-related expenses
Developing, administering, and monitoring contracts, purchase orders, service agreements, and renewals for software, hardware, maintenance, and professional services
Coordinating procurement activities in accordance with county policies
Supporting asset and software license management
Assisting with long-range financial and operational planning for IT initiatives
Serving as a liaison with vendors, county finance, legal, and purchasing staff, and departmental leadership
Providing staff support and communication for advisory boards or committees
Managing public records requests related to departmental operations in compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Required

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration or closely related degree AND two (2) years of work experience in areas of budget, invoicing, payables and receivables, and assisting with grant funding and procurement OR An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined above. A higher degree does not substitute for work experience
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of North Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated
Previous experience with the administrative and financial operations of an Information Technology department, including budgeting, purchasing, or contract support in a government setting
