Responsibilities
Prepare and file simple to complex tax returns for a diverse client base
Serve as a point of contact for clients and tax authorities, providing guidance on tax matters and strategies
Review tax returns and related filings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
Provide proactive tax planning and advisory support to clients
Analyze client-provided financial and tax data to identify opportunities and optimize outcomes
Research current tax laws, regulations, and emerging tax trends
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements
Train, mentor, and support the development of junior tax staff
Manage multiple assignments within engagements while meeting deadlines
Communicate regularly with managers and partners regarding work status and client issues
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience in tax preparation or a similar public accounting role
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; Master's in Taxation preferred
CPA preferred
Experience with tax preparation software; familiarity with CCH ProSystem, Axcess, or Document is a plus
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Strong understanding of federal and state tax laws and regulations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities
Effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Willingness to work additional hours during peak tax season as needed
Preferred
Master's in Taxation
CPA
Familiarity with CCH ProSystem, Axcess, or Document
