Strategy Intern – Space Solutions Sector (Engineering - Summer 2026)

Parsons is looking for an exceptional Strategy Intern to join their Space Solutions Sector team in Huntsville, AL. This role is designed for a rising senior undergraduate student pursuing an engineering degree, where the intern will support sector leadership in developing a strategic plan and gain hands-on experience in capability assessment and market analysis.

Responsibilities

Assist sector leadership in developing a Space Solutions Sector strategic plan
Assess current technical capabilities and identify gaps relative to future market needs
Analyze the current customer base and define desired future customers and markets, with an emphasis on space-related government and commercial customers
Support evaluation of desired capabilities needed to enable future growth
Assist in the development of a revenue model, including multiple courses of action for future growth
Conduct research and analysis related to market trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning in the space domain
Translate qualitative and quantitative findings into clear insights, narratives, and recommendations
Work under the guidance of a senior engineer or scientist, gaining exposure to both technical and strategic decision-making
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather data and validate assumptions
Complete a summer-long project culminating in a final presentation to sector and senior leadership

Required

Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in an engineering discipline such as: Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
Must be a rising senior at an accredited college or university
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate technical and business information
Ability to conduct structured research and synthesize findings into actionable insights
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
Willingness to ask questions, seek feedback, and continuously improve
Ability to work onsite in the Huntsville, AL office for the duration of the internship

Preferred

Interest in space systems, defense, or advanced engineering solutions
Familiarity with strategic planning, market analysis, or business case development
Basic understanding of financial or revenue modeling concepts
Experience preparing and delivering presentations to technical or leadership audiences
Demonstrated leadership potential through academic projects, internships, or extracurricular activities
Interest in working closely with senior technical leadership to support strategic initiatives
