Responsibilities
Assist in the development and distribution of press materials, including press releases, media alerts, and briefing materials/backgrounders
Support the media relations team in monitoring media coverage and compiling reports on key stories and trends
Help coordinate media inquiries and facilitate communication between journalists and company spokespeople
Contribute to the planning and execution of media events and executive appearances
Hands on support for major company-sponsored programs and events
Research and compile information on industry trends, competitor activities, and relevant news to support strategic communications initiatives
Assist in maintaining and updating media contact lists and databases
Collaborate with team members on various projects and initiatives related to executive visibility and thought leadership
Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for enhancing media engagement and communication strategies. Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program Studying Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or related field
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated interest through prior internships or coursework/campus involvement in communications (public relations, journalism, digital media, etc.), as well as strong organizational and time management skills
Proficiency with MS Office suite
Experience with Muckrack/Cision, Business
Preferred
Excellent written and verbal communications skills that display innovative and creative thinking and attention to detail (writing sample required)
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment, manage competing deadlines, and be proactive
Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with others
