Responsibilities
Maintain and analyze general ledger activity in accordance with GAAP and internal accounting standards
Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, allocations, and reclassifications
Prepare and review detailed balance sheet and income statement reconciliations with clear supporting documentation
Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies through structured variance and root-cause analysis
Ensure consistent accounting treatment across departments, cost centers, and service lines
Analyze historical financial data to identify trends, patterns, and performance drivers
Build and maintain financial forecasts for revenue, expenses, and cash flow
Develop variance analyses comparing actual results to forecast, budget, and prior periods
Support budgeting and long-range planning through data modeling and scenario analysis
Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for leadership
Analyze revenue related to DME services, including reimbursements, contractual adjustments, write-offs, and payer mix
Support revenue recognition in alignment with healthcare accounting standards
Monitor allowance for doubtful accounts and bad debt reserves using historical and analytical data
Partner with billing and operations teams to reconcile operational activity with financial results
Identify trends or anomalies in reimbursement data and support corrective action
Analyze operating expenses by department, program, and region
Develop and maintain cost allocation and accrual models for payroll, benefits, mileage, vendor services, and medical supplies
Monitor expense trends and identify variances or emerging risks
Support leadership with data-driven insights related to cost control and operational efficiency
Maintain audit-ready financial records with strong documentation and traceability
Support internal and external audits through preparation of schedules, analyses, and explanations
Assist in strengthening internal controls and standardized accounting procedures
Ensure compliance with healthcare-related financial requirements and internal policies
Serve as a power user for accounting and financial systems
Ensure data accuracy and consistency across accounting, payroll, billing, and operational platforms
Support reporting automation, forecasting tools, and system enhancements
Assist with system implementations, integrations, and data validation
Qualification
Required
Strong quantitative and numerical reasoning skills
High level of financial acumen with the ability to apply accounting detail in a business context
Advanced analytical thinking and structured problem-solving ability
Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy
Ability to work with large data sets and modern financial analytics tools
QuickBooks (required)
Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, financial modeling)
Financial analytics or business intelligence tools
Healthcare billing or revenue cycle systems
Expense and reimbursement tracking tools
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Science, or a related quantitative field
5+ years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or a data-driven finance role
Healthcare or DME experience required
