Responsibilities
Consistently, proactively asks if the public needs assistance
Escorts patients and public to destination when appropriate
Greets all public entering the facility consistently with a smile and positive attitude
Maintains accurate records of patients, admissions and discharges on a daily basis
Monitors lobby appearance as necessary, picking up litter, straightening chairs or contacting Environmental Services to assist
Provides accurate directions to patients and visitors to all areas of the Medical Center
Receives and responds to all inquiries for patient information and answers phones within 4 rings
Responds within 30 minutes to all complaints and concerns received at the Information Desk by contacting the appropriate individual for resolution
Provides a compassionate and supportive environment with prompt and consistent service
Adheres to patient rights: provides for the confidential treatment of all communications and records
Demonstrates professionalism with families, visitors, physicians, co-workers and supervisors
Supports teamwork by cooperative problem solving through participation in meetings, projects, etc
Utilizes principles of continuous quality improvement in all work situations to assess, measure and improve organizational and department functions
Organizes work sets priorities with a minimum of supervision and seeks guidance as appropriate
Makes decisions that are timely and consistent with department, objectives, policies and procedures
Qualification
Required
High School diploma
One to three years prior experience in health care and/or customer service required
Preferred
Clerical experience preferred
