Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain PostgreSQL and YugabyteDB schemas following 3rd Normal Form (3NF) principles
Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries and database-driven APIs
Contribute to backend development using Python and TypeScript (Next.js)
Support frontend features using React (Svelte exposure is a plus)
Build and maintain systems that manage electronic health/medical records (EHR/EMR)
Develop analytics and decision-support tools that present patient data to clinicians (e.g., catheter tracking, care management dashboards)
Support inference and AI-assisted features that identify patient risks (e.g., diabetes indicators)
Work within an AWS EC2 environment and cloud-based infrastructure
Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, high-value sprints, and all-hands meetings
Collaborate with business analysts to scope system changes and enhancements
Communicate technical solutions and trade-offs with C-level stakeholders
Qualification
Required
5–7 years of professional experience in software development
Strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript
Solid experience with PostgreSQL and relational database design
Deep understanding of 3rd Normal Form (3NF) and data normalization
Experience building full-stack applications (frontend + backend)
Familiarity with React and modern frontend frameworks
Experience writing and optimizing complex SQL queries
Hands-on experience in cloud environments (AWS EC2)
Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a small team
Preferred
Experience building or maintaining an EHR or EMR system
Familiarity with YugabyteDB
Experience with Metabase or other BI/analytics tools
Prior exposure to healthcare, medical managed care, or clinical systems
Experience designing systems to handle messy or duplicate datasets
Knowledge of AI-assisted inference or decision-support systems
