Police Records Assistant - Part-Time
NEOGOV is seeking a Police Records Assistant to join the St. Charles Police Department. This part-time role involves providing administrative and customer service support at the Police Records front desk, including handling inquiries and assisting the public and law enforcement agencies.

Responsibilities
Welcome citizens and visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone, and answer or refer their inquiries appropriately
Receive citizen complaints and take appropriate action to initiate an efficient response. This includes handling after-hours non-911 emergency callouts for City staff to respond to a variety of situations
Utilize written procedures and department computer systems to make inquiries, perform miscellaneous clerical functions, and assist the public, officers, and other law enforcement agencies
Accept various cash payments and issue receipts with accuracy
Monitor department surveillance, intercom, and security system
Applicants may occasionally work alone in the office and should have flexibility to cover other shifts when needed to provide office coverage
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
One year of receptionist or administrative experience
Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully and maintain composure in stressful situations
Operate a variety of computer systems, software programs, and applications to inquire and perform data entry
LEADS (Law Enforcement Automated Data System) authorization, or able to obtain within six months
Perform duties with initiative, good judgment and resourcefulness
Successful completion of a background check, including fingerprinting, and drug screen are required
Preferred
Prior police experience is a plus
Fluency in Spanish is a plus
