Personnel Supervisor I
The California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation (CDCR) is seeking a Personnel Supervisor I for Kern Valley State Prison in Delano, CA. This role involves supervising a team of Personnel Specialists and overseeing personnel/payroll transactions functions while providing training and technical assistance to staff.

Develop and provide training and technical assistance to internal and departmental staff
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within the department, other governmental agencies, health care partners, and communities
Qualification
Required
Incumbents are responsible for one or more personnel transactions programs
Under general supervision, incumbents supervise a staff of Personnel Specialists performing personnel/payroll transactions functions
There may be functional supervision of lower-level Personnel Specialists in geographically separated locations
Incumbents develop and provide training and technical assistance to internal and departmental staff
Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s)

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment

Official transcripts may be required upon appointment
If it is determined a candidate does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position
Candidates who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board
Applicants who completed their education outside of the US (with foreign degrees/transcripts) must obtain and submit verification of U.S. course/degree equivalency
Candidates new to CDCR are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department testing on an annual basis thereafter
CDCR/CCHCS utilizes E-Verify to confirm candidate's identity and employment authorization
