Responsibilities

To serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol as directed
To support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance
To conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
To assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, i.e., collecting and recording data, recruiting and performing follow-up with participants, scheduling visits and assisting in coordination of lab and fieldwork
Facilitates and tracks progress and outcomes for grant projects as directed by the Project Investigator (PI). Participates and is responsible for the identification and development of objectives to ensure the necessary outcomes are met. Manage projects in an efficient and effective manner. Utilizes critical thinking skills to provide solutions and answers for situations as they arise
May handle sensitive or specialized correspondence with participants and other constituents as needed
Manages process for grants, regarding but not limited to travel expenditure/budget management, participants' stipend processing, compliance needs, and concerns
Proactively prioritizes and initiates grant projects and assignments efficiently and effectively to achieve desired outcomes. Manages work in a timely and efficient manner to provide immediate turnaround time on assignments when necessary
Ensures compliance with grant, SON, and UAB policies and procedures
Maintains central calendar for tracking data collection dates and timelines
Schedules, participates in, and records minutes for interprofessional team meetings
Coordinates meetings/conferences with team members, collaborators, and external agencies as needed. This may include coordinating travel arrangements for the PI/team
Assists with developing reports
Orders supplies and equipment, and coordinates shipping of the supplies and equipment
Coordinates with consultants pertinent to the project
Schedules and assists with focus groups, interviews, telephone surveys, and/or mailings
Creates and organizes study files, data storage during study, and archives
Assists in the preparation, editing, and submission of presentations and publications
Creates and organizes study files, stores them during study, and archives them
Participates in education/training opportunities that facilitate this role
Facilitates compliance relative to University, School of Nursing, and sponsor policies, Office of Research and Scholarship within the School of Nursing, applicable IRBs, and University policies and procedures
Ethical conduct is a fundamental expectation for every UAB community member. All employees must abide by the standards of behavior outlined in the UAB Enterprise Code of Conduct. Upon hire, new employees are required to attest to the Code by completing the online training that is assigned to them. Behaviors inconsistent with the Code may result in appropriate consequences

Required

Bachelor's degree in a related field
Three (3) years of related experience required
Work experience may substitute for education requirement
