COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST SENIOR
The University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking a Senior Communications Specialist to support the School of Medicine Communications Shared Services Team. This role involves developing and executing communication projects, managing complex assignments, and ensuring alignment with institutional priorities through effective storytelling and multi-channel communication strategies.

Responsibilities
Identifies, researches and supports proactive unit-wide communications initiatives by gathering information, preparing materials, and coordinating distribution using university-approved platforms and tools
Drafts, edits, and produces content for channels that may include web, email, social media, video, newsletters, and print publications
Tracks and reports on engagement metrics to evaluate communications effectiveness, and analyzes performance data for continuous improvement
Manages complex communication projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, on brand, and with measurable results
Collaborates across teams to ensure communications align with unit goals and institutional brand standards
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field
Two (2) years of related experience
Demonstrated experience in marketing and/or communications, including, but not limited to social media, video, web, writing, editing and content creation
