Third Shift Asset Software & Controls Engineer (Associate, Mid-Level, or Senior)

The Boeing Company is seeking an Associate, Mid-Level or Senior Asset Software & Controls Engineer to support 3rd-shift automation equipment for the Production Engineering organization in Everett, WA. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, integrating, and troubleshooting automation systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance production efficiency and safety.

Responsibilities

Programs, integrates, & troubleshoots automation system from industry leading Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)
Programs, integrates, & troubleshoots Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Numerical Controls (NC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), & Drives from Siemens, FANUC, or Allen Bradley
Optimizes complex robotics & automation tools and equipment for safety, ergonomics, quality, flow, reliability, or maintainability
Maintains and improves data collection systems that track equipment performance metrics including OEE, MTBF, MTTR, and machine uptime
Manages projects and comply with industry standards including electrical and safety codes
Develops and implements basic work-arounds and maintains configuration of hardware, software and documentation
Assists and helps manage projects involving the acquisition or modification of production equipment
Generates system specifications from production system requirements
Develops and releases bid and purchase specifications for equipment needs from suppliers
Analyzes design/build concepts, to evaluate a producible design/build definition. Investigates alternative solutions to meet the producibility requirements
Works in a cross functional team alongside manufacturing, quality, safety, services, research and technology, suppliers and vendors
Communicates, collaborates effectively with others

Required

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
2 or more years' related engineering work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
Must be able to work 3rd shift during the hours of 11pm – 7am PST

Preferred

(**Mid-Level**) 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
(**Senior level**) 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
5 or more years of experience working in a production environment
5 or more years of experience with programming, integrating or troubleshooting industrial automation from OEMs such as ABB or FANUC, or PLCs, NCs, HMIs, or Drives such as Siemens, FANUC or Allen Bradley
5 or more years of experience with programming languages such as Java and SQL
5 or more years of experience working with hardware, software, and documentation configuration management
5 or more years of experience working to industry standards including compliance with hardware and safety codes
Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills and an ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams
