Atrium is partnering with a leading construction company specializing in commercial and residential projects across the region. They are seeking a Project Accountant to manage the financial aspects of multi-location construction projects, overseeing budgets, financial reporting, and compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities

Monitor and manage the financial health of multiple construction projects across various locations
Prepare and analyze project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports
Ensure accurate and timely billing and invoicing in accordance with project contracts
Track project costs, revenue, and profitability, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints
Work closely with project managers to provide financial insights and support for decision-making
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for each project
Conduct regular financial audits to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Reconcile the general ledger cost of sales to Work In Progress (WIP) accounts
Handle any financial discrepancies or issues that arise during the course of a project

Required

2+ years of accounting experience
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial management in multi-location or construction projects
Proficiency with ERP accounting software and tools
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required

Preferred

Familiarity with construction contracts and legal regulations
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools
