Responsibilities

Fabricates, joins, and/or repairs equipment, fixtures and various types of metal objects and structures using MIG, TIG, stick, or other welding processes
Welds according to specifications and company/customer requirements
Applies specialized skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment in area of expertise
Executes welds in all positions including from underneath, to the side, in a variety of shapes and more
Perform minor maintenance duties and assist trade technicians in and around airport facilities
Respond to and correct issues that may exist within the facility, equipment, or systems
Report issues found that could potentially lead to additional system and/or equipment failures
Inputs accurate information into the CMMS
Performs all duties in a safe manner and keeps all employees aware of dangers in work area
Practices good housekeeping in work area
Responsible for understanding and following all Hazardous Waste Management duties and responsibilities
Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion

Required

High school diploma or GED or equivalent Technical / vocational / or military training / related experience
Welding Certification is Required
Two (2) or more years weld experience with at least one (1) years of experience in general maintenance
Knowledge of welding techniques including MIG, TIG, Stick - aluminum and stainless steel is a plus
Ability to comprehend all blueprints and schematics
Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting
Proficient in all key weldments
Ability to use personal computer or workstation
Demonstrate ability to use all appropriate tools, measuring devices, forklifts, cranes, and fixtures required
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate personnel assignments within the department
Effectively communicate and solve issues that cross departmental boundaries
