Elementary Art Faculty (TK-Grade 3)
Oaks Christian School is seeking an Elementary Art Faculty member for grades TK-3. The role involves planning and delivering engaging visual art instruction while integrating a biblical worldview and fostering student creativity and self-expression.

Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate visual art instruction for elementary students (K–3)
Teach foundational art skills and techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, and basic design
Integrate a biblical worldview and character development into art lessons when appropriate
Help students recognize that they are God’s workmanship, created by Him, and encourage stewardship of their God-given talents
Foster creativity, self-expression, perseverance, and joy in learning, with an emphasis on student creativity and artistic process over craft-based skill replication
Introduce students to art vocabulary, influential artists from history, and the elements and principles of design
Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment that reflects Christian values
Manage art supplies, materials, and budget responsibly
Use positive and respectful classroom management strategies consistent with the school’s discipline philosophy
Assess student learning through projects, observation, and age-appropriate evaluations, with a focus on growth and creative expression
Display student artwork in the classroom, communal display areas, and competitions
Organize an end-of-year art show to showcase at least one piece of each student’s work
Collaborate with classroom teachers to support cross-curricular learning and school-wide initiatives
Work collaboratively and humbly as a team member; demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to share classroom space and resources

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field
Experience working with/teaching elementary-aged children
Strong knowledge of visual art techniques, media, and basic art history
A personal commitment to follow Christ and to support the school's statement of faith
Ability to integrate faith and learning in age-appropriate ways
Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred
Master's degree in Art Education or a related field
Valid teaching certification or eligibility for certification
Previous experience teaching art in a Christian or faith-based school
Knowledge of child development and developmental stages of artistic growth
Experience organizing student art shows or school exhibitions
Familiarity with choice-based art education or student-centered learning
Ability to integrate art with biblical themes, service, and community outreach
Comfort incorporating basic technology or digital tools in elementary art instruction
