Responsibilities
Provide structural engineering services and field support
Conduct preparation of designs and calculations
Conduct site walk downs of construction sites
Develop cost estimates and material takeoffs
Provide schedule and staffing input for projects
Produce and check structural steel design calculations and drawings
Qualification
Required
30+ years heavy industrial/power plant experience or accredited bachelor's & master's degree in engineering and professional engineering license
Detailed knowledge of structural steel and concrete design principles and industry methodologies
Significant structural steel connection design experience
Proficiency with structural codes and standards
Extensive knowledge of heavy industrial structures and components
Strong computer skills - proficiency with structural computer programs such as STAAD PRO
Proficiency with OSHA regulations
Able to coordinate and manage multiple large scale, multi-discipline projects
Able to perform structural inspections and provide written report
Strong problem solving and decision making abilities
Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors
