Responsibilities

Perform and lead complex technical and analytical work related to grid resilience and reliability, demand flexibility, renewable energy, and distributed energy resources
Serve as a technical lead or team coordinator for larger projects involving multiple internal and external entities
Represent the California Energy Commission before state, federal, and local energy agencies, as well as regional, national, professional, and governmental bodies influencing California energy policy
Act as a subject matter resource on policy, technology, market, and strategic issues related to backup power assets and grid reliability programs
Support the development and implementation of incentive and financing programs advancing reliability, renewable energy, and building decarbonization
Coordinate and collaborate with other state agencies, local governments, utilities, industry partners, and the public
Contribute to program analysis, implementation strategies, and continuous improvement of reliability-focused initiatives

Required

Experience in electric generation systems, grid reliability, distributed energy resources, or demand flexibility programs

Experience serving as a project or technical lead and coordinating across multiple stakeholders
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred

Familiarity with public-sector incentive programs, energy markets, or California's clean energy framework is highly desirable
