[DPR Summer/Seasonal] Program Assistant, Senior - Teens

The Program Assistant, Senior - Teens will coordinate engaging programming for teens, supervise activities, and collaborate with community partners to enhance recreational opportunities for youth aged 13-18.

Responsibilities

Develops documents such as monthly calendars for program sites
Manages program spaces, acquires supplies, and maintains cleanliness and organization
Supervises youth groups during programs, maintains discipline and order, issues equipment, and conducts games and activities
Assists in training, assigning, leading, and evaluating staff and volunteers
Leads interactive recreation workshops, special events and other programs
Organizes positive alternative and preventive education projects
Assists in the development of programs to meet community needs
Develops community partnerships, builds relationships, markets programs, and recruits volunteers
Schedules and organizes teen programming and outreach, schedules meetings and activities at site facilities
Enters participant information and program registrations into Active.Net recreation software system, manages and updates existing information
Maintains and prepares attendance and activity reports and other program documents
Addresses participant and staff needs and concerns and communicates them to supervisor
Completes program and staff evaluation forms at the end of the program
Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service training programs, orientations, and evaluation sessions
Observes necessary precautions to secure the safety of program participants and renders first aid in case of minor injury
Completes accident reports

Required

High School diploma or equivalency (GED, HiSet, TASC)
Two (2) years of experience working with teens in a recreational setting, supervising activities, and providing customer service
Must be at least 21 years of age
Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record
Valid Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED – with Anaphylaxis and Epinephrine Auto Injector Certification 'or' obtain within the first six months of employment
