Transportation Project Manager/Senior Project Engineer
McClure is seeking an experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Engineer to join their growing Transportation team in Maine. This role involves guiding project delivery, mentoring engineers, and contributing to meaningful transportation projects across the state.

Responsibilities
Lead and support Maine transportation projects through scoping, preliminary design, final design, PS&E, bid support, and construction phase services
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, designers, and external stakeholders to deliver high quality projects
Participate in and lead project milestone reviews and coordination meetings with MaineDOT and municipal partners
Assist with workload planning, scheduling, and technical task delegation in coordination with project managers
Serve as a primary internal resource for MaineDOT standards, specifications, and project delivery requirements
Lead and support QA/QC efforts, including reviewing plans, specifications, estimates, and technical reports
Ensure compliance with MaineDOT, AASHTO, and applicable federal and municipal requirements
Support proposal development, interviews, and strategic pursuits for MaineDOT and Maine Municipal work
Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineers and designers
Contribute to internal training and the continued development of McClure’s Maine transportation practice
Engage with industry organizations in Maine and across New England to support professional development, knowledge sharing, and relationship building
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering
7 to 10+ years of professional transportation engineering experience
Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Maine or ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe
Experience delivering transportation infrastructure projects in Maine
Strong proficiency with Bentley OpenRoads and related Bentley transportation design products
Demonstrated experience leading projects through multiple design phases
Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures and professional liability considerations
Proven ability to mentor and develop junior engineers
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage priorities across multiple projects and communicate complex technical information effectively

Professional Engineer in Maine (Required)
Preferred
Experience with locally administered federal aid projects in Maine
Experience with the Maine Turnpike Authority and Maine municipalities a plus
