Manufacturing Line Supervisor, NPI (New Product Introduction)

The NPI Manufacturing Line Supervisor will manage manufacturing technicians, support new product introduction, and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities
Manage technicians daily to support prototype and pilot builds in alignment with product development milestones and commercialization readiness
Serve as the subject matter expert for assembly processes and lead technician training
Investigate assembly issues during pilot builds and work with Engineering to drive continuous improvement, DFM/DFA, and manufacturing readiness
Provide input on capital equipment, tooling, and labor needs to support pilot builds, scale-up activities, and commercial manufacturing readiness
Utilize small hand tools and/or precision devices and microscopes to aid in prototyping and testing
Comfortable supporting multiple products and engineers to ensure on-time completion of build plans and development deliverables
Maintain clean room organization (keep work area, equipment, and materials clean, organized and properly identified)
Coordinate material planning and inventory management for NPI activities to prevent build disruptions, shortages, or excess scrap
Lead cycle counts for NPI inventory as required
Performs other related duties as required to support successful NPI execution and transition to manufacturing including transitioning pilot line into clean room space
Ability to work in controlled environments and oversee WIP tracking and logistics related to NPI builds
Qualification
Required
Minimum 15 years working in the medical device industry in a NPI, manufacturing, or operations role
High school diploma or GED
Languages: Full professional proficiency in English
Experience with manufacturing processes such as braiding, coil winding, extruding, lamination, adhesive joining, die bonding, and laser welding
Experience using dimensional/visual inspection equipment, gage pins, calipers, etc
Positive demeanor with a strong work ethic and desire to be a big part of a growing organization
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance development priorities, timelines, and resource constraints
Demonstrated ability to coach, train, and develop technicians in a dynamic, fast-paced NPI environment
Preferred
Experience with disposables/consumables manufacturing
Experience with Propel PLM System
Experience with NetSuite ERP System
Experience supporting medical device and capital equipment BOMs
Experience creating and/or redlining MPIs and LHRs
Experience in a start-up environment
