Lab Assistant-Referrals Lab-PRN
Veterans in Healthcare is seeking a Lab Assistant for their Referrals Lab at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. The role involves registering patients and specimens, processing various types of patient specimens, and assisting lab techs with department maintenance and other duties as assigned.

Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
Must be able to withstand the stress and demands of an active position while responding calmly and efficiently in crisis situations
Must be able to work as a team member, demonstrating good interpersonal skills
Must be able to communicate professionally with physicians, management and staff
Must be able to make decisions and use appropriate judgment
Registration of patients/specimens following all procedures as outlined
Receive, accession, and process all types of inpatient and outpatient specimens
Must be able to provide and understand the specific communication, developmental and treatment needs of patients, families, and visitors ranging in age from neonate-birth to geriatric
Whiles these standards are intended to be an accurate reflection of the job requirements, management reserves the right to modify, add, or remove duties from particular jobs and to assign other duties as necessary
Qualification
Required
High School Graduate or Equivalent Experience
Intermediate level of computer knowledge and experience
Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
Must be able to withstand the stress and demands of an active position while responding calmly and efficiently in crisis situations
Must be able to work as a team member, demonstrating good interpersonal skills
Must be able to communicate professionally with physicians, management and staff
Must be able to make decisions and use appropriate judgment

Prior laboratory experience or hospital registration experience
Knowledge of ICD-10 coding
